After you’ve mastered all of the basic chords (including the lovely E chord and Bb chord) and a range of strumming patterns in your 4-week beginner’s course (or equivalent learning elsewhere), you’ll be ready for more! This course is designed to accelerate you with a leap up towards the intermediate course material. If you want to explore your position 1 chords, add lots more strums, basic picking and add a bit of sophistication to some really popular songs before moving onto even more extra rhythms and barre chords in the Intermediate Course, this is the course for you!
You’ll need to complete the current week’s tutorials, songs, and set some time aside each day to practice them on your own. Then, you can choose to either submit videos to get feedback on specific sections on any of that week’s songs (up to 1-minute per song), or you can join a group class (if your timezone permits) to ask questions, get help if you need it and play through the songs you’ve learned. Ideally, you’ll have started at least 4 days prior to the group class. The group class times are here. If you need to, you can repeat once more, in the 6-months after booking. This isn’t a one and done option, you will be supported as it’s important to get you going.
With a maximum of 6 people in a class, this course will enable you to play more songs, more chords, new strumming patterns, how to read tab notation and play basic finger-picking patterns, along with some handy tricks to make you sound like you’re playing more complicated things than you actually are. A bit like the absolute beginner’s course, you’ll learn 3 new songs, with new strumming or finger-picking patterns each week, and we provide online resources to help you with your practice at home. If you put some time, in between the classes, you’ll get a lot out of the 4 weeks. This course is a great way to improve your skills, meet new people, and have fun. Does that sound good? Then we look forward to getting you strumming!
